Susanna has over 30 years of experience in organizational change management, regulatory compliance, and intergovernmental relations. She has helped to restructure organizations and developed processes for greater accountability and efficiency and has started up and managed multiple for-profit and non-profit ventures. She has conducted research studies, management reviews, performance audits, economic impact analyses for agencies in transportation, utilities, education, workforce development, and business. She has facilitated strategic planning and visioning sessions with stakeholders for governmental agencies, institutions of higher education, and nonprofit organizations. She is also an organizational development consultant and executive coach working with executives on performance enhancement and professional advancement.
Susanna’s previous executive and administrative experience includes working at mid-size, and large matrix organizations. Her areas of specialization include human resource management, employee relations, legal aspects of HR management, strategic planning, process improvements, change management, business and P&L management, risk assessment, M&A, program evaluation, and project management. She formerly served as the Chief Compliance Officer for a $290 M. private higher education company with 18 campuses in 7 states that merged with a multi-national corporation; directed workforce development and resource development initiatives for one of the largest community college districts; served as Executive Director for an Economic Development corporation; and served as Vice President for Regulatory Affairs for a public higher education company. She has helped to launch five non-profit organizations.
Her Master’s Degree is in Public Policy Analysis from West Virginia University, Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and French, and post graduate studies in Human Resource Management from UCLA and Certificate in Business Leadership from Disney Business Institute . She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources by HR Certification Institute (2015-2018)
In addition to her involvement in the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, as a Pasadena resident, Susanna is active in her local community. She serves on the President’s Advisory Board for Pasadena City College and is co-founder and Vice President of Aim High Learning, on the advisory board for Women at Work, and former board member of the Hear Center. She is recipient of over a dozen commendations from Congressional, state and local officials for her community contributions.
