Mr.
Anderson is a Bioterrorism
and Emergency Preparedness professional with over 16
years of experience in emergency and disaster
management. He is a Certified Emergency
Manager with the International Association of
Emergency Management and is an appointee to the
Department of Homeland Security’s National Security
Information Network Council. He was most recently
the Bioterrorism and Emergency Preparedness
Coordinator for the City of Pasadena Public Health
Department in Los Angeles County. |

Mr. Anderson has served as Executive Director of the
American Red Cross in Greater New York – Queens
Chapter and as Chief Operations/Financial Officer
for regional activities for the American Red Cross
of Northwest Florida. He has served as Job Director
on numerous national and international disaster
relief operations including Phnom, Penh Cambodia;
Nishny Novgorod, Russia; the South Central Texas
Floods in San Antonio; West Virginia Floods;
Tropical Storms Hanna, Isidore and Hurricanes
Lilli, Ivan and Dennis in the Gulf Coast of Florida;
World Trade Center Bombing, New York City; Hurricane
Katrina; and the Southern California Wildfires to
name just a few. |

Mr. Anderson has responsible for a wide range of
operational issues including Bioterrorism and
emergency preparedness; strategic national stockpile
(SNS) force protection; all-hazards emergency
preparedness planning including mass prophylaxis and
vaccination plans; developing policies and
procedures for emergency responses to Chemical,
Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE)
events; and provides necessary logistical support to
both the City, Los Angeles County and Regional
Emergency Operation Centers. |

His research areas are in economics, public health
law, ethics, and public policy as well as the impact
of law and policy on infectious disease outbreaks;
mental health; human rights, genetics and
information privacy. |

|
|
|
He
is recipient of the Irwin N. Bloom Endowment Law
Scholarship for his demonstrated work and commitment
to public service and government work when he
organized the largest pro bono legal network in Los
Angeles County to provide free legal service to over
2,000 refugees from the Gulf Coast during Hurricane
Katrina and Rita. The operation included over 400
volunteer attorneys and law students and over 200
spontaneous volunteers with partnerships between the
legal community, the American Red Cross and the
Mayors Office. |
